For me, photography is an additive process piling layers of photographs, color, intensity, and dark/light values.  I use color theory and layers of photos while interspersing subtractive work, carving back to enhance spatial characteristics.  It all works together to create a three-dimensional space.

It’s a different approach working with color and intensity to make an image.  I’m not particularly interested in creating a striking image of a leaf.  I want that leaf to visually exist waffling in a breeze in space.

It always starts with the initial photographs.  I take a lot of time shooting my initial images so that they are sharp and concise.  Clearer and cleaner helps me push the photographs into a new place.
